This document is written to be usable, not decorative. Mandatory rights under applicable law always take priority where they provide stronger protection.
1. Scope and controller
This Privacy Policy explains how UnhingedForge Development handles personal information through its website, any future official Discord community, Unhinged Apprentice bot, support and testing workflows, and direct communications. Third-party stores, Discord, GitHub, and linked services handle information under their own notices.
UnhingedForge determines why and how the information described here is used. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to the contact below.
2. Information we collect
- Community identifiers: Discord user ID, username, display name, server roles, join and leave timestamps, and role subscriptions.
- Support and safety records: tickets, transcripts, bug reports, feature requests, warnings, moderation cases, appeals, AutoMod alerts, and related attachments or notes.
- Testing and operations: tester application answers, approvals, project access, build/version information, event RSVPs, staff status, and contribution history.
- Website technical data: IP address, request time, browser/device information, requested page, referring page, and security or error logs collected by our hosting provider.
- Privacy-conscious website metrics: page path and outbound destination category without advertising cookies, cross-site profiling, or a persistent visitor identifier created by this website.
- Communications: information you include in email, Discord messages, forms, tickets, reports, or collaboration inquiries.
- Transactions, if paid products are introduced: order number, product, amount, currency, status, and provider receipt. We do not ask you to send full card numbers or authentication credentials.
3. How we obtain information
We receive information directly from you, automatically from website or bot use, from platforms you choose to use with us, and from staff actions needed to operate and moderate the community.
4. Why we use information
- Provide requested services, downloads, roles, testing access, support, events, and project information.
- Authenticate requests, prevent abuse, enforce rules, investigate security issues, and protect people and systems.
- Triage bugs, improve accessibility and quality, maintain roadmaps, and communicate release or service updates.
- Respond to business, press, partnership, volunteer, legal, privacy, and vulnerability inquiries.
- Measure basic reliability and community operations without building advertising profiles.
- Meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, preserve evidence, and enforce agreements.
5. Legal bases where required
Depending on where you live, we rely on performance of a contract, your consent, compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in operating, securing, improving, and moderating the Services. You may withdraw consent at any time, but withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing.
6. Sharing and service providers
We share information only as reasonably needed with providers such as Discord, website hosting, source-code hosting, database/backup infrastructure, email, security, storefronts, and payment processors; with professional advisers; when required by law; to protect rights or safety; or as part of a disclosed business reorganization. Providers may process information in other countries and under their own terms.
Public posts, forum submissions, usernames, roles, and event participation may be visible according to Discord channel permissions. Private tickets and staff channels are restricted, but no online system can be guaranteed completely secure.
7. Children and teens
The Services are intended for a general audience age 13 and older, or the higher minimum age required locally. They are not directed to children under 13. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under the applicable minimum age, we will restrict the account and delete the information unless law requires retention.
Parents or guardians who believe a child provided information in violation of this policy should contact us. Community members must follow the additional teen-safety rules in the Community Guidelines.
8. Security
We use role-based channel access, least-privilege bot permissions, AutoMod, private moderation and ticket areas, encrypted daily database backups, integrity checks, and access review. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so do not send secrets or unnecessary sensitive information.
9. Retention
We keep information only for the periods and purposes in the Data-Retention Schedule, subject to legal holds, safety needs, platform limitations, and earlier deletion when no longer needed. Encrypted rolling backups may retain a deleted record for a limited recovery window before replacement.
10. Your choices and rights
- Use /mydata in Discord for a private summary of records associated with your Discord ID.
- Use /delete-mydata to remove eligible nonessential bot data and optional subscriptions.
- Email us to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, withdrawal of consent, or to object to certain uses, where those rights apply.
- Leave optional roles, disable notifications, remove public posts you control, or stop using a Service.
- If we deny a privacy request, you may ask for reconsideration by replying with “Privacy Appeal” and explaining the decision you dispute.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as our Services or legal obligations change. Material changes will be announced through an appropriate official channel. Questions, requests, or complaints may be sent to the company contact below with the subject “Privacy Request.”
